WELCOME TO OUR HOMEPAGE!

The Association, “School Forests for West Africa ”, supports North - South School Partnerships through Tree Planting Projects in West-African Schools as a contribution against the destruction of the Rain Forest and as an Instrument for Nature Conservation.

Our Aims include:

  • Tree Planting on School Compounds 
  • Establishment of an Environmental Centre in Ghana
  • Environmental Education for Schools in Germany and Africa
  • Negotiation and Implementation of Partnerships between Schools in Germany and Africa

Our active members work honorary and charitably. We welcome any form of support. Please contact us.

News: March 2010 - Dr. Sam Essiamah and three co-workers went to Ghana on a honorary trip to evaluate local projects and to look after the two german volunteers.[PDF report]

Our Activities honoured....

In May 2004, the Association with the Project won “Globolog-Prize 2004” to establish an Office in Ghana to link school children in Ghana and Germany involved in the Project through Internet. The office was established at Tema, an industrial town about 10 miles from The Capital City Accra, and was opened in April 2005 [more..]

On 01.03.2005, the Network "School Forests for West Africa – Children Forests worldwide -  was recognized by UN as Official Decade-Project of the UN-Decade “Education for Sustainable Development” and a certificate was awarded on the 1st of March 2005
